A delegation of the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, together with IT Park Uzbekistan, continues a series of strategic meetings in the United States aimed at expanding international venture cooperation and supporting the global scale-up of Uzbek startups.

As part of the visit, the delegation held a strategic meeting with Talos Capital, a U.S.-based venture capital firm specializing in early-stage investments in artificial intelligence, DeepTech, cybersecurity, defense technologies, Industry 4.0, and FinTech.

The meeting was attended by Sherzod Shermatov, Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan; Farkhod Ibragimov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of IT Park Uzbekistan; Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan; Jamila Khalibaeva, Global Marketing Director of IT Park Uzbekistan; Nir Netzer, General Partner at Talos Capital, and Paul Sheahan, Project Director of Saviday.

During the discussion, the parties explored opportunities to establish systematic cooperation in venture investment and startup acceleration. Talos Capital expressed interest in reviewing Uzbekistan’s national startup pipeline and jointly evaluating promising technology companies aligned with its investment focus areas. Special attention was given to creating a structured mechanism for deal-flow exchange and coordinated assessment of startups in partnership with IT Park Uzbekistan.

The discussion also covered potential participation of Talos Capital in Uzbekistan’s co-investment programs, including the Digital Startups Program, with coordination on joint due diligence, co-investment models, and early-stage investment acceleration initiatives.

Another key topic was soft-landing support for Talos Capital portfolio companies entering Uzbekistan, including access to IT Park infrastructure, regulatory advisory assistance, facilitation of pilot projects with local enterprises, and partnership development with the Uzbek private sector.

Additionally, both sides discussed knowledge sharing and collaboration in international innovation programs, including participation of Talos Capital representatives in ecosystem events, venture initiatives, and expert programs supporting DeepTech and AI development in Uzbekistan.

As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue expanding cooperation, facilitating market entry for Talos portfolio companies into Central Asia, attracting venture investments into Uzbekistan-based startups, and strengthening the country’s integration into the global innovation ecosystem.
