European companies reached an agreement on joint programs with IT Park Uzbekistan

Representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan, led by CEO Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, held a meeting with a delegation of innovative companies and organizations from Finland, Estonia, and Latvia. During the discussions, the parties reached an agreement to develop joint programs focused on supporting startups, facilitating the exchange of expertise, and engaging European companies in the advancement of Uzbekistan’s IT ecosystem.

The delegation included representatives from Finland, Estonia, and Latvia. Among them were Kimmo Kumpulainen, Head of Polar Partners; Anu Puusaag, representing Tehnopol; Azar Bunyad-Zade and Emil Asgarbayli of B2Btrade; and Lauri Antalainen of Digiwise, who also serves as President of the Estonian Business Angels Network. Latvia was represented by Evija Pudane, Janis Tenisons, and Oksana Polko of CLEANTECH LATVIA.

Polar Partners (Finland), founded in 2012, is a consulting firm specializing in educational projects and the digitalization of schools. The company has implemented projects in more than 10 countries and has extensive experience in introducing modern educational standards and EdTech solutions.

Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol (Estonia) is the country’s largest science and business park, hosting more than 350 startups, technology companies, and research centers. It provides comprehensive support for innovative projects, ranging from acceleration and mentorship to access to venture investment and international markets. Tehnopol actively collaborates with public institutions and corporations, promoting entrepreneurship and the commercialization of research.

B2Btrade (Estonia) is engaged in international trade and business consulting, supporting export and import operations, assisting companies in finding global partners, and fostering sustainable business ties.

CLEANTECH LATVIA (Latvia) is an association that brings together over 40 companies in the fields of green technology and sustainable development. The organization promotes environmentally friendly solutions in energy, industry, and urban infrastructure while facilitating the international expansion of Latvian companies.

The meeting focused on the transformation of Uzbekistan’s IT sector and startup ecosystem, the opportunities available for European companies to expand their business, and joint educational initiatives. The Estonian representatives expressed their willingness to share expertise through seminars and workshops for Uzbek specialists, as well as to invite Uzbek startups to participate in major international events, including Latitude59, Estonia’s largest annual technology and startup conference.

Particular emphasis was placed on supporting startups through joint soft-landing programs, encompassing infrastructure and legal support, as well as professional exchange initiatives. The parties also discussed potential cooperation in venture capital development, support services, and the commercialization of university research. Lauri Antalainen, President of the Estonian Business Angels Network and representative of Digiwise, expressed a keen interest in exploring Uzbek startups and building connections with local investors.

An agreement was also reached to facilitate meetings within the framework of Slush 2025, scheduled to take place on 19–20 November in Helsinki. In addition, the delegation extended an invitation to Uzbekistan to participate in the Latitude59 conference in Estonia.

Partnership with Finland, Estonia, and Latvia will allow IT Park Uzbekistan to integrate leading international practices into the development of the national startup ecosystem, expand its global network of partners, and open new opportunities for Uzbek companies and professionals across the European market.
