The Uzbekistan–Serbia Business Forum was held in Tashkent with the participation of Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev, Serbia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Adriana Mesarović, and First Deputy CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan Jakhongir Radjabov. The parties discussed cooperation in IT outsourcing, the launch of joint projects, and attracting investments, including the establishment of data centers and venture funds.
The Uzbekistan–Serbia Business Forum took place on February 20, 2026, in Tashkent as part of the official visit of the Serbian delegation. More than 80 entrepreneurs, as well as representatives of government bodies and businesses from both countries, attended the event. The program included presentations on investment potential, official speeches, and B2B and G2B meetings aimed at strengthening trade, investment, and the launch of joint projects.
During the forum, Jakhongir Radjabov presented Uzbekistan as an emerging IT hub. He noted that the country has developed a digital ecosystem with favorable conditions for IT Park Uzbekistan residents. These include zero corporate and social tax rates, simplified company registration procedures, and no work permit requirements for foreign specialists.
Special attention was given to cooperation models in BPO, KPO, and IT outsourcing. Serbia may act as a “front office” for the European Union market, while Uzbekistan can serve as a scalable “back office” platform with competitive costs and a growing talent pool. The possibility of investing in the construction of data centers in Karakalpakstan was also discussed, with proposals for preferential regimes and special electricity tariffs.
Additionally, an initiative was proposed to establish a joint venture fund that would enable Uzbek startups to enter the European market and allow Serbian startups to scale in Central Asia.
Cooperation with the Serbian side opens new opportunities for IT Park Uzbekistan to expand its export geography, attract foreign direct investment, and strengthen Uzbekistan’s position as a strategic digital platform between Europe and Central Asia.
