On May 20, 2026, a meeting with the Spanish ICEX delegation was held at the IT Park Uzbekistan office. As a continuation of discussions initiated during MWC 2026, the parties discussed practical cooperation in startup ecosystems, international partnerships, and supporting tech companies in entering foreign markets.
The ICEX and Embassy of Spain delegation included Cristina Santamaria Garcia, Advisor on Trade and Economic Affairs. Representing IT Park Uzbekistan was Makhliyo Muksinova, Deputy CEO for Strategic Development.
During the meeting, ICEX presented the “Rising Up in Spain” program aimed at supporting international startups through networking opportunities, and integration into the Spanish startup ecosystem. Representatives also shared experience from initiatives such as “Russian Startups Go Global” and collaboration with Skolkovo startups.
During the meeting, ICEX representatives expressed their readiness to consider participating in TIIF 2026 (Tashkent International Investment Forum) and presenting the “Rising Up in Spain” program during ICT Week 2026. At the same time, the IT Park Uzbekistan delegation also invited ICEX to take part in the TIIF platform.
The parties additionally discussed potential cooperation within ICT Week 2026 and GBSF 2026. ICEX representatives invited IT Park Uzbekistan representatives to participate in South Summit 2027, one of Spain’s major startup events.
At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue strengthening ties between international startup ecosystems, creating new market opportunities for technology companies, and developing joint initiatives.
