In-Demand Professions of 2025: How to Build a Career in AI, Data Cloud, and Game Development

In the IT industry, staying abreast of cutting-edge technologies is paramount to remaining a sought-after professional and building a successful career. Fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Technologies (Data Cloud), and Game Development (GameDev) are undergoing significant growth.

By 2025, these domains are projected to become even more popular, with an increasing demand for skilled professionals. This article provides a comprehensive analysis of key professions, salaries, job opportunities, required competencies, and recommendations for starting a career in Uzbekistan.

    1. Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Professionals in the AI sector focus on the development and application of technologies, including machine learning and neural networks. This hands-on experience often involves working with platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Participation in cloud technology-focused hackathons and collaborative projects can also help hone essential skills and attract employer attention.

As in other high-tech fields, cloud technology and Big Data specialists will continue to play a vital role in Uzbekistan's digitalization, fostering new business models, and driving innovation and technological advancement within the country.

    3. Game Development (GameDev)

Game development is far more than simply creating games — it is the convergence of technology, art, and entertainment that brings virtual worlds and characters to life, captivating the imagination of millions. In the digital era, GameDev has become a significant part of global culture, aiming not only to entertain but also to inspire, educate, and push the boundaries of possibility. "Uzbekistan is poised for a major breakthrough in 2025. I’ve had the privilege of reviewing the work of many budding developers, and I see immense potential for them to make an impact globally. One of my talented students is set to release an impressive racing game this year. Additionally, my multi-genre, highly original game HitTube, centered on video bloggers, will also launch in 2025.

Salaries in the gaming industry depend on the complexity of the role and the scarcity of talent. Programmers and artists earn higher wages because their work requires not only technical expertise but also creativity. A quality game cannot exist without both functional programming and compelling visual design; engaging gameplay is meaningless without aesthetics, and outstanding graphics are futile without functionality.”

    • Game Developer: $50,000 – $120,000 per year

    • 3D Artist: $70,000 – $100,000 per year

    • VR Designer: $80,000 – $110,000 per year

Despite the Uzbek market still being in its early stages of growth in this sector, salaries for game developers are gradually increasing, particularly in large IT companies and studios. Currently, average salaries for game development specialists in Uzbekistan are:

    • Game Developer: 10 – 30 million UZS/month, depending on experience and company scale

    • 3D Artist: 12 – 28 million UZS/month

    • VR Designer: 15 – 35 million UZS/month

    Vacancy

Globally, approximately 10,000 game development-related vacancies were open as of December 2024, with a focus on game production for the gaming, education, and healthcare industries. Virtual reality (VR) programs are rapidly expanding in companies such as Oculus (Meta), HTC, Sony, and Magic Leap.

Currently, about 150 gaming industry vacancies were available In Uzbekistan. These include positions for game developers, 3D artists, and VR specialists. Job opportunities can be found on platforms such as hh.uz, as well as within developer communities and specialized channels. Significant postings are made within the it-market.uz.
