International game studio WATT is launching its first project — the game GRIMPS — and is considering Uzbekistan as a base for publishing its future projects and expanding its team.
The studio’s first project developed in Uzbekistan will be GRIMPS. The game is scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2026, while a demo version is already available on Steam.
The company plans to register its IP projects under the jurisdiction of Uzbekistan and publish its games through the country. It is also considering hiring local specialists.
One of the key factors behind this decision is Uzbekistan’s double taxation avoidance agreements with the United States. This simplifies cooperation with international platforms and foreign partners and may increase revenue by approximately 30%.
The studio initiated cooperation after establishing working contacts with the Creative Industries Agency and visiting Uzbekistan during a business trip in December. Today, WATT is considered one of the most promising game studios in the CIS region.
The arrival of international game studios in the country could provide an additional boost to the development of Uzbekistan’s game development industry. It encourages knowledge exchange, attracts new professionals, and creates opportunities for joint projects, while strengthening the country’s position as a promising hub for the growth of the gaming industry and the digital creative sector.
