An international forum, Digital Qazaqstan 2026, dedicated to digital development and technology, was held in Shymkent. The event brought together representatives of governments, technology companies, startups, and international organizations, including a delegation from IT Park Uzbekistan.
During the forum, Uzbekistan’s Prime Minister, Abdulla Aripov, announced that the country plans to launch satellite internet in test mode in 2026. The project aims to provide connectivity to remote and hard-to-reach areas and includes support measures for operators, such as tax incentives.
According to him, Uzbekistan has made significant progress in digitalization in recent years. Broadband internet coverage has nearly reached nationwide levels, and network capacity has increased substantially.
The forum also featured a panel session focused on artificial intelligence and digital development in the countries of the Organization of Turkic States. Jahongir Rajabov, First Deputy Director General of IT Park Uzbekistan, took part in the discussion.
He noted that the development of artificial intelligence in Uzbekistan is being pursued at the state level. Currently, around 200 AI projects are being implemented across various sectors, including healthcare, energy, transport, and public administration.
At the same time, infrastructure and workforce development are advancing: computing capacity is being expanded, specialized laboratories are being established, and training programs are being implemented, including for public officials.
The development of areas such as satellite communication, artificial intelligence, and the startup ecosystem reflects the country’s overall shift toward digital transformation. IT Park Uzbekistan continues to support technology projects and foster the IT community, creating conditions for the growth of the digital economy.
