A Uzbekistan–Japan business forum on the development of infrastructure and smart cities was held in Tashkent. Representatives of government organizations and Japanese companies participated in the event, discussing prospects for cooperation in infrastructure development, digital technologies, and innovation.
Among the forum participants were Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamol Maksudov, Director for Strategic Development at IT Park Uzbekistan Makhliyo Muksinova, Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Ilzat Kasimov, as well as Japan’s Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Yoshimichi Terada and representatives of Japanese companies.
During the forum, participants presented key areas of infrastructure and urban technology development. Representatives of Japanese companies and research organizations delivered presentations on urban planning, transport system development, and the implementation of smart city technologies. From the Uzbek side, projects on infrastructure development and the construction of New Tashkent were presented, along with the country’s investment opportunities in the fields of technology and urban development.
Makhliyo Muksinova, Deputy CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan, presented Uzbekistan’s potential as a growing IT hub in the region. In her presentation, she highlighted opportunities for international companies, including strong human capital, tax incentives for residents of IT Park Uzbekistan, as well as the development of the startup ecosystem and artificial intelligence projects.
Cooperation with Japanese partners will enable IT Park Uzbekistan to expand international connections, attract technology companies and investors, and further strengthen the development of the startup ecosystem, research, and innovative projects in Uzbekistan.
