The Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, held a meeting with Nicolo Caprese, Vice President for Global AI Infrastructure Development at NVIDIA, as well as representatives of Firebird — President Alexander Yesayan and Managing Director Razmig Hovaghimian.
The meeting was also attended by the First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, Oleg Pekos. The parties discussed the development of artificial intelligence infrastructure in Uzbekistan.
NVIDIA is an American technology company and one of the global leaders in graphics processing units (GPUs) and AI solutions. Founded in 1993 and headquartered in the United States, its products are widely used in data centers, gaming, and AI development. The company’s revenue exceeds $60 billion.
Firebird is an international company focused on developing digital infrastructure, including data centers and AI-related projects. It operates in emerging markets and collaborates with both public and private sector partners.
The guests were presented with ongoing AI-related reforms, including support measures for data centers in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, as well as current projects and training programs for specialists.
Representatives of NVIDIA and Firebird also introduced an initiative to build a large-scale AI data center. The project envisions constructing a facility with a capacity of 125 to 250 MW, with potential for further expansion.
Such cooperation provides access to international expertise and technologies, supports the development of local infrastructure, and creates favorable conditions for the growth of the IT sector and the training of AI specialists.
