A meeting took place in Tashkent between the Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Republic of Serbia, Adriana Mesarović. The negotiations were also attended by the management of IT Park Uzbekistan and representatives of relevant agencies from both countries.
During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to elevate cooperation in digital transformation to a new level. Particular attention was paid to the development of the IT industry, the creation of joint projects in artificial intelligence, the development of data centers, as well as the exchange of experience in digitalizing public administration and various economic sectors.
As part of the visit, the Serbian delegation visited IT Park Uzbekistan. Representatives of the technopark presented the development of the national IT ecosystem, existing tax and infrastructure incentives for residents, support measures for export-oriented companies, and tools for startup development. Special attention was given to opportunities for foreign investors.
The delegation also visited the UzSOC cybersecurity center. The Serbian delegation was introduced to real-time monitoring systems, analytical tools, and cyber incident response mechanisms, as well as measures to protect government bodies and critical infrastructure. During their visit to UZINFOCOM, state information systems, e-government infrastructure, and data center capacities were presented.
During the negotiations, the parties also discussed prospects for the joint development of BPO and IT outsourcing, opportunities for establishing joint venture initiatives, and expanding cooperation between innovation centers of the two countries. The Serbian side shared its experience in developing supercomputing infrastructure and expanding data center capacities.
Following the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to strengthen bilateral technological partnership, exchange expertise, and implement joint initiatives in the digital economy sector.
Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Serbia will create new opportunities for attracting investment, expanding the export potential of IT companies, and strengthening national digital infrastructure.
