Results for September: The Number of Exporting Members Increased by 66 Companies, 29 of Which Have Foreign Capital

Uzbekistan continues to successfully develop its ecosystem and reinforcing its reputation as a center for IT service outsourcing, attracting increased interest from foreign companies and promoting the export growth of local IT companies to international markets.

In September 2024, a total of 99 new IT companies joined the ranks of IT Park members, of which 29 were established with foreign capital from countries such as the United Kingdom, Singapore, India, Malaysia, and Germany.

Two-thirds of these members (66 companies) are export-oriented. According to their submitted business plan, they are projected to create over 700 employment opportunities for local specialists within their first year of operations.

Consequently, the total number of exporting members has reached 936, with the number of foreign companies among the members totaling 574.

The primary sectors of operation for these new members include outsourcing services (19 companies), software development (22 companies), the implementation of proprietary software products (16 companies), and services in the creative industry (3 companies).

The export geography of the new export-oriented members encompasses markets in the United States, Germany, Switzerland, France, the United Kingdom, Singapore, China, South Korea, Japan, and the UAE.

It is imperative to highlight the increasing interest in Uzbekistan's IT sector from nations within the Asia-Pacific region, particularly Singapore and Malaysia. Foreign companies are establishing back offices and outsourcing centers to handle international orders, as well as headquarters to facilitate expansion into new markets via Uzbekistan. This contributes to the country's export growth and attracts local talent, thereby positively influencing the development of the IT ecosystem and the creation of new employment opportunities.

The Singaporean company BIPO SERVICES SILK ROAD is opening an office in Uzbekistan to provide outsourcing IT services, primarily targeting export markets in China and other Asian countries, with a forecasted export volume of $1 million.

Furthermore, the Malaysian company SUMMITNEXT is preparing to establish an office in Uzbekistan with a workforce of up to 110 employees. This firm specializes in outsourcing IT services and is considering the United States, Germany, India, and Malaysia as key export markets with an expected export volume also reaching $1 million.

The establishment of offices by large international corporations not only bolsters exports but also generates employment opportunities for local specialists and fortifies Uzbekistan's standing on the global stage. The rise in foreign investors confirms the effectiveness of support programs, positioning the country as a significant player in the IT service market. This development contributes to economic growth, job creation, and the enhancement of professional qualifications, aligning with Uzbekistan's ambition to become an international IT hub under the Digital Uzbekistan — 2030 strategy.
