President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the nationwide “National AI Hackathon,” held at the universal sports complex in the city of Bukhara.

The event is part of a broader policy aimed at developing the artificial intelligence ecosystem in Uzbekistan, initiated by the head of state.

The leaders were shown the results of ongoing digitalization efforts and the implementation of AI technologies. Key areas of digital transformation were demonstrated, including the Digital Government system, as well as solutions in transport, customs, taxation, healthcare, social protection, energy, geology, construction, and agriculture.

It was noted that the comprehensive digitalization of these sectors contributes to improving the efficiency of public administration and enhancing the quality of life.

A presentation of the startup support ecosystem in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan was also held. The presidents reviewed and spoke with representatives of promising startup projects such as KPI-COM, OSON, and DATOX.

They were also briefed on the activities of national and international accelerators, including UZUM, TBC Bank, Aloqa Bank, HUMO, and UZCARD.

The importance of further developing venture infrastructure and supporting youth entrepreneurship was emphasized.

Special attention was given to the achievements of the banking sector, including the development of digital banking and modern payment solutions.

During the open dialogue, the high level of youth engagement, their creative approach, and their eagerness to apply artificial intelligence technologies in practice were highlighted.

At the end of the visit, the presidents posed for a joint commemorative photo with hackathon participants and representatives of the startup community.
