Korean Delegation Explores IT Outsourcing Opportunities in Uzbekistan

 

Tashkent, Uzbekistan – September 18, 2024 – A delegation of leading Korean IT companies, including E8ight, KOIIA, Broken Egg, and DXel, met with representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan to explore the potential for establishing offices and outsourcing centers in Uzbekistan. The meeting was attended by Makhliyo Muksinova, Services Export Development Director at IT Park Uzbekistan, along with key figures from the Korean delegation: Ryu Soo Yeong, CRO of E8ight; Kim Tae Hwan, Vice President of KOIIA; Lee Sang Moon, CEO of Broken Egg; and Kim Moon Hyun, Executive Director of DXel. 

 

 

The discussions focused on Uzbekistan's growing IT sector, its skilled workforce, and government incentives that make the country an attractive destination for outsourcing. The Korean companies expressed strong interest in expanding their operations to Uzbekistan, recognizing the strategic advantages of the region.

 

 

E8ight: Expanding Digital Twin Technologies

E8ight, a South Korean IT company specializing in simulation-based digital twin platforms, has been exploring options for expanding its operations in Uzbekistan. Led by Ryu Soo Yeong, the company's CRO, E8ight's mission is to “digitalize, connect, and simulate the world.” During the meeting, Mr. Ryu emphasized that E8ight is keen to establish business operations in Uzbekistan by October 2024, starting with the talents development program to nurture future employees for their Uzbek office. The company views Uzbekistan as a prime location for leveraging local talent to support its expanding international business.

 

 

KOIIA: Fostering Digitalization and Manufacturing

Following E8ight’s presentation, KOIIA (Korea Industrial Intelligence Association), represented by Vice President Kim Tae Hwan, discussed its plans to open a back office in Uzbekistan. KOIIA, which supports over 200 IT and manufacturing companies in Korea, is focused on digitizing operations and fostering innovation in manufacturing. The association sees Uzbekistan as a key hub for its outsourcing services and plans to recruit local talent to contribute to the country’s IT and manufacturing sectors. As a first step, KOIIA will place outsourcing orders from Korean companies in Uzbekistan to test the skill level of local specialists.

 

 

Broken Egg: Innovating in 3D Simulation

Broken Egg, led by CEO Lee Sang Moon, shared its interest in establishing operations in Uzbekistan. Specializing in 3D simulation software, the company enables businesses to visualize product designs in virtual reality, helping to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Broken Egg aims to open an office by the end of the year and is particularly interested in Uzbekistan’s 3D modeling talent pool.

Makhliyo Muksinova reaffirmed IT Park Uzbekistan’s commitment to supporting Korean companies in their efforts to expand into Uzbekistan. By offering tailored support and providing access to government programs, such as tax incentives and talent development initiatives, IT Park aims to foster long-term partnerships that will benefit both the local workforce and international companies. These collaborations are expected to create numerous job opportunities, elevate local expertise, and strengthen Uzbekistan’s position as a key player in the global IT outsourcing market.
