    IT Park and SteelRose Legal Sign Memorandum of Understanding in London

    A strategic meeting was held in London between representatives of the International Digital Technology Center (Enterprise Uzbekistan) under IT Park Uzbekistan and the UK-based law firm SteelRose Legal, culminating in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The document was signed by Akbar Gulyamov, Head of the Project Office of Enterprise Uzbekistan, and Zulaykho Tokhtaeva, Managing Partner of SteelRose Legal.

    SteelRose Legal is a law firm specializing in English law with extensive experience in providing international legal consultancy services, particularly in supporting digital and technological projects across various jurisdictions.

    The signed MoU sets forth the parties’ intention to cooperate in several key areas, including:

    • Conducting a legal review of the draft Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the International Digital Technology Center (Enterprise Uzbekistan) based on principles of English law;
    • Preparing recommendations and legal opinions on the draft legislation on behalf of SteelRose Legal;
    • Supporting the development of internal policies and regulations for IT Park within the framework of the Center’s legal regime, leveraging international expertise in areas such as GDPR compliance and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) measures.

    Both parties emphasized the importance of maintaining confidentiality and agreed that the Memorandum of Understanding shall remain in effect for two years, with the possibility of extension upon mutual agreement.

    This collaboration with SteelRose Legal marks a significant milestone in the development of the legal infrastructure of the International Digital Technology Center. By integrating international standards and elements of English law, the initiative aims to strengthen Uzbekistan’s standing as an attractive jurisdiction for global tech companies, offering reliable legal safeguards for investors, startups, and IT Park members.
