The international forum Digital Qazaqstan 2026, dedicated to digital development and technology, took place in Shymkent.
During the forum, Aripov stated that Uzbekistan plans to launch satellite internet on a trial basis in 2026. According to him, the development of satellite communications aims to provide internet access to remote and hard-to-reach regions of the country. Support measures, including tax incentives, are envisaged for operators.
Aripov also noted that in recent years Uzbekistan has made significant progress in digitalization: broadband internet coverage has nearly achieved nationwide coverage, and network capacity has expanded significantly.
During the event, First Deputy Director of IT Park Uzbekistan, Jahongir Rajabov, presented the activities of the IT Park Uzbekistan, outlining its key areas of work and opportunities for international cooperation.
Special attention is being given to the development of artificial intelligence infrastructure. The country is currently finalizing a large-scale computing cluster, which will serve as a foundation to scale AI solutions and implement them across various sectors of the economy.
At present, a portfolio of more than 100 artificial intelligence projects is currently under development. Specialized initiatives are also being developed, including an AI Alliance and a network of scientific and educational laboratories.
In addition, the startup ecosystem continues to grow: the number of technology projects is increasing, some of which are already entering international markets, while venture capital investment shows steady growth.
The development of areas such as satellite communications, artificial intelligence, and the startup ecosystem reflects the country’s broader course toward digital transformation. IT Park Uzbekistan continues to contribute to this process by supporting tech projects, fostering the IT community, and creating conditions for the growth of the digital economy.
