The Senate has approved the Constitutional Law on the International Digital Technology Center

The Constitutional Law, based on the principles of English law, establishes the legal foundation for the International Digital Technology Center "Enterprise Uzbekistan," operating on the territory of IT Park Uzbekistan.

Under the Constitutional Law, matters directly within the powers of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan — including the organization and functioning of the Center, changes to its boundaries, its strategic governance, and the appointment of key officials — are carried out on the basis of decrees and resolutions adopted by the President.

It is also planned to introduce a flexible tax and customs regime, tax incentives for certain types of activity, and a simplified procedure for importing equipment, technology, and materials.

In addition, the law envisions support mechanisms for Center participants, including a single window for registration and administration, as well as guarantees for the protection of intellectual property and investments.

The Center's operations are expected to lay a solid foundation for increasing the country's digital services exports to $5 billion by 2030, creating more than 300,000 new high-paying jobs in the economy, and enabling many talented young people to earn world-class salaries at home.

The adoption of the law will create a legal basis for guaranteeing the property and intellectual property rights of foreign investors at the level of international standards, and, as a result, will allow major global tech giants such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Amazon to enter the market directly.

According to senators, the Constitutional Law will help increase the IT sector's share of GDP, boost foreign direct investment in the digital sector, create new jobs in digital technology, and grow the volume of IT services exports.

Following the discussion, the Law was approved by the senators.
