    Teams from Uzbekistan demonstrated high results in the ICPC NERC semifinals

    Student teams from Uzbekistan successfully competed in the ICPC NERC, one of the most prestigious and competitive stages of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC). Teams from Uzbekistan demonstrate, representatives of the country’s leading universities earned diplomas of various degrees, demonstrating a high level of proficiency on the international stage.

    The ICPC NERC (North Eurasian Regional Contest) serves as the semifinal for the ICPC and the primary regional stage for North Eurasian countries. It is at this stage that teams compete for qualification to the World Finals. This year, approximately 341 teams from the region’s top universities participated, making the ICPC NERC one of the most challenging and competitive tournaments in the world.

    In 2025, Uzbekistan was represented at the ICPC NERC semifinals by 20 teams from the country’s leading universities. The preparation of the national teams was organized by IT Park Uzbekistan in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Technologies and IT Park University, with the involvement of international and local coaches. The training process featured experts from the Tashkent Branch of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, and New Uzbekistan University.

    In addition to preparation, IT Park Uzbekistan supported the participation of nine of the strongest teams from Uzbekistan, enabling students to attend the ICPC NERC semifinals in person and represent the country with distinction on the international platform.

    The best result among the Uzbek teams was achieved by the team from the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, consisting of Azizbek Marufjonov, Davlatbek Mirokilov, and Shokhrukh Rakhmatillaev. The team solved 7 problems, earning a first-degree diploma and recording the highest score among all teams from Uzbekistan.

    Second-degree diplomas were awarded to teams that solved 6 problems. These included:

    • Tashkent Branch of Lomonosov Moscow State University — team Awesome Team (Rafael Ashrapov, Svyatoslav Kim, Rodion Sofenkov);
    • New Uzbekistan University — team Three Dinosaurs (Mardon Khazratov, Muhammadayubkhon Erkinov, Khusanboy Mansuraliev);
    • New Uzbekistan University — team Asteroids (Azamat Rustamov, Javokhir Toshtemirov, Ismoilmirzo Inoyatov);
    • Tashkent University of Humanities — team Unexpected Ones (Asilbek Sunnatov, Nodirbek Ismailov, Bekzod Kurbonov);
    • Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi — team Tomorrow’s Problem (Muhammadmirzo Tursunov, Nurbakhsh Avezmurodov, Rakhima Uteshova).

    The team Starborn from Bukhara State University, consisting of Javokhirbek Mukhtorov, Akhmadjon Amonov, and Aminjon Amonov, solved 5 problems and was awarded a third-degree diploma.

    It is also noteworthy that the first team of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi secured 3rd place in Central Asia, outperforming many strong universities from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. This achievement stands as one of the best results for the Uzbekistan national team in recent years.
