LINAGORA is considering localizing part of its development operations in Uzbekistan

The main focus of the negotiations was the possibility of relocating some of LINAGORA's development operations to Uzbekistan and establishing the country as a regional hub for the development and delivery of the company's software solutions to Central Asian and CIS markets. Such a cooperation model could serve as a practical example of attracting a French technology company to Uzbekistan and creating new high-tech jobs.

During the meeting, IT Park Uzbekistan presented the country's capabilities for hosting international development teams, highlighting its talent pool, competitive cost structure, and the ecosystem of IT Park Uzbekistan resident companies. The parties also discussed the support mechanisms available to LINAGORA and the benefits of obtaining resident status to organize its operations in Uzbekistan.

Special attention was given to the joint development of solutions in the fields of digital sovereignty and open-source software. Specifically, the parties discussed the potential implementation of LINAGORA products—such as Twake Workplace, LinShare, and other open-source solutions—in Uzbekistan's public and private sectors. This initiative aligns with the growing demand for technological solutions that allow organizations to maintain greater control over their data and digital infrastructure.

Artificial intelligence was another potential area of cooperation. Representatives from IT Park Uzbekistan and LINAGORA discussed the company's experience with the OpenLLM Europe initiative and the potential to apply open and auditable AI models, including LUCIE, to advance Uzbekistan's AI ecosystem.

LINAGORA is a French open-source software developer founded in 2000. The company specializes in digital sovereignty and is advancing its own concept of a "third digital way"—an alternative approach to technology based on the principles of openness, ethics, inclusivity, and sustainable development. LINAGORA works with public and private organizations and has an international presence in France, Tunisia, Vietnam, and Canada.

The company's solutions include Twake Workplace, which integrates tools for corporate communication and collaboration; LinShare for secure file sharing; and OSSA, a technology framework that supports over 500 open-source packages. The company is also involved in the European OpenLLM Europe initiative, which aims to create open and verifiable artificial intelligence models.

LINAGORA's founder and president, Alexandre Zapolsky, established the company in 2000 while still a student and went on to become one of the most prominent figures in the French open-source community. He has served on the National Digital Council, heads the National Federation of Free Software and the General Assembly of Open Source, and is a member of several professional and business organizations in France.

A potential partnership with LINAGORA could encompass several areas simultaneously, from transferring part of its development operations and creating a regional hub in Uzbekistan to implementing open-source solutions and advancing open artificial intelligence technologies.
