IT Park Uzbekistan hosted a meeting at its headquarters with a delegation from the Republic of Korea, comprising representatives of Gyeongbuk Technopark (GBTP) and Halla University. The discussions focused on potential avenues for cooperation in industrial digitalization, IT talent development, and the creation of joint service delivery solutions.
During the discussions, Makhliyo Muksinova, Services Export Development Director, presented a comprehensive overview of the IT Park ecosystem. Special attention was given to the support mechanisms available to member companies operating in international markets.
The Korean delegation outlined plans to launch a Smart Factory in the Fergana region, a project supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea (MOTIE). This initiative aims to transform an industrial enterprise with a focus on digital technologies. A key topic of discussion was the prospect of establishing a service center in Uzbekistan, which would contribute to the development of digital solutions and provide technical support for the project.
In response, IT Park proposed to host the service component of the project in Uzbekistan and involve qualified member companies with relevant expertise. GBTP expressed strong interest in this proposal and confirmed their intention to delegate a portion of the project’s technical implementation to Uzbek partners. Looking ahead, they also indicated plans to leverage this project as an outsourcing hub for delivering IT services from Uzbekistan to South Korea.
Both parties also explored opportunities for launching joint educational programs, facilitating knowledge exchange, and developing specific solutions in both B2B and B2G formats. As a next step, GBTP committed to submitting a concept note outlining the primary areas of cooperation, while IT Park will coordinate the process of identifying and engaging relevant member companies.
This initiative represents an important milestone in advancing international partnerships and reinforcing Uzbekistan’s position as a reliable IT hub for collaboration with Asian markets.
