An “IT Town” has been inaugurated in Toshloq district of Fergana region

In accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic Uzbekistan dated May 15, 2024, “On the organization of the activities of “IT Towns” aimed at creating additional conditions for training youth in digital technologies and foreign language in the regions”, it has been set to establish one “IT Town” in each region. The official opening ceremony of the “IT Town” complex in Toshloq district of Fergana region, took place. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, and the Governor of Fergana region, Khayrullo Bozorov.

 

 

The “IT Town” is housed in a two-story building comprising 20 rooms, and equipped to simultaneously train 200 young individuals.

 

The complex has been constructed in line with modern standards, providing all necessary conditions for acquiring education and mastering professions in the field of information technology and foreign languages. More than 10 qualified instructors have been engaged in the educational process.

 

 

The facility includes a “Startup Garage,” coworking zones, dedicated areas for freelancers, a conference hall, as well as training centers focused on programming, robotics, 3D graphics, graphic design, SMM, modern professions, and foreign languages.

 

During the event, the Minister and the Governor presented proposals on provision of training for youth in modern professions and foreign languages at the “IT Town”, taking into account current market demands.

 

 

Today, all necessary conditions are being created in our country for educating youth in modern professions, with particular emphasis placed on the study of information technology.

 

In 2024, the volume of IT services provided in Fergana region reached 587 billion UZS, representing a 115% increase compared to the previous year. The volume of services in the field of programming alone amounted to 104 billion UZS, growing by 99.7%. The number of IT Park members in the region increased from 80 to 106, and the number of jobs created rose from 797 to 1,397.

 

 

Currently, 24 member companies are engaged in IT services export, 33 provide services in digital education, and 46 operate in the domestic market. The total volume of services provided by these companies exceeded 112.4 billion UZS. Within the framework of the “One Million Programmers” initiative, approximately 28,000 young people in the region have received training in information technology to date.
