Gamescom 2026: IT Park Uzbekistan Expands International Opportunities for Uzbekistan’s GameDev Industry

IT Park Uzbekistan took part in Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, where it held a series of meetings with international gaming companies and industry organizations. The key topics of discussion included supporting Uzbekistan’s GameDev startups, helping them enter international markets, providing access to overseas acceleration programs, identifying promising game projects, and creating opportunities for their further monetization.

Gamescom is one of the world’s largest gaming industry events, bringing together developers, publishers, investors, and technology companies. In 2026, the exhibition welcomed more than 1,200 exhibitors from 60+ countries and over 320,000 visitors. IT Park Uzbekistan was represented at the event with its own booth in the B2B business area.

Three IT Park member companies representing different segments of the gaming industry also participated in Gamescom alongside IT Park Uzbekistan: Evegoplayon, specializing in art production; CAS, providing playable marketing services; and Spaghetti Cat, operating in the game publishing sector.

Gamescom 2026 became a platform for the independent publisher Spaghetti Cat to establish new professional contacts and discover promising game projects. During the exhibition, the team held a series of meetings with partners, resulting in preliminary agreements on further cooperation.

“Gamescom is always an incredible experience. The scale, the energy, and projects from all over the world make it truly unique. This year, we held many meetings, discussed joint plans, and explored a huge number of games at different stages of development. Special thanks to our booth partners, IT Park Uzbekistan and ESdigital, for this valuable experience and their contribution to the development of the fund. We are already thinking about coming back next year.”

Danila Kamenev, Head of Publishing at Spaghetti Cat

The participation of IT Park member companies made it possible to present to the international audience not only the conditions for running a technology business in Uzbekistan, but also the capabilities of local companies – from game content production and marketing solutions to publishing.

One of the key areas of the business program was a series of negotiations with international organizations and partners focused on developing the GameDev ecosystem.

With DMCC Gaming Center, the parties discussed joint mechanisms for supporting GameDev startups. In particular, they considered the possibility of organizing joint GameJams, as well as providing Uzbek gaming companies with access to acceleration programs and other project development opportunities in Dubai.

During a meeting with Morocco Game Hub, the parties exchanged experience in developing the gaming industry and building an ecosystem to support GameDev projects. Such exchanges provide an opportunity to study international models for industry development and adapt the most effective approaches to support further market growth in Uzbekistan.

With Voodoo, the parties discussed the possibility of establishing a scouting center in Tashkent that would identify and evaluate promising game projects from Uzbekistan for potential cooperation with the international company.

Another area of cooperation involved Play Ducky. The parties discussed supporting and selecting local game projects, as well as opportunities for their further monetization. This could create an additional channel for local developers seeking to bring their products to a broader international audience.

Separate meetings were also held with major global gaming industry players, including Saber Interactive, CD Projekt RED, and Xbox.

For IT Park Uzbekistan, participation in Gamescom is first and foremost a tool for integrating the local GameDev ecosystem into the international market. Direct connections with global studios, publishers, accelerators, and specialized gaming hubs open up new opportunities for Uzbek companies – from gaining industry expertise and participating in international programs to finding partners, publishers, and monetization channels.

At the same time, such meetings help promote Uzbekistan as a destination for international GameDev companies considering Central Asia for business expansion, team building, and the launch of new projects.
