Representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan held a meeting with Yury Smagarinsky, CEO of the international company Yoola. During the meeting, the parties discussed key areas for future cooperation, including the potential launch of YouTube monetization in Uzbekistan, the establishment of a company office in the country, the development of the creative economy, and the introduction of new IT solutions.
Yoola is a global multi-channel network (MCN) and an official YouTube partner, recognized as a reliable and longstanding player in the digital content market. The company functions as a comprehensive ecosystem for content creators and currently facilitates monetization for approximately 60% of all creators in Uzbekistan. Yoola collaborates with thousands of creators and media companies across the world, develops technologies for content promotion, monetization, and localization, and possesses a unique capability to target content by specific countries — a feature that offers notable advantages for the local market.
A central topic of discussion was the prospect of launching official YouTube monetization in Uzbekistan. As this functionality is not yet available to local creators, the parties agreed to jointly engage with relevant representatives of the platform to promote this initiative. The introduction of official monetization would unlock new income opportunities for Uzbek creators and provide a significant boost to the development of the industry.
The meeting also focused on educational initiatives and strengthening the local creator community. IT Park and Yoola plan to implement joint programs aimed at enhancing creator competencies, conducting training sessions, and increasing the involvement of creative agencies in sector development. These efforts are expected to foster a more professional environment and create favorable conditions for the emergence of new successful projects.
The parties further discussed Yoola’s plans to open an office in Uzbekistan and obtain the status of a member company of IT Park Uzbekistan. This step would enable the company to establish a long-term presence in the region, benefit from available tax incentives and institutional support, and take a more active role in introducing advanced IT solutions, including artificial intelligence technologies.
Collaboration with Yoola is set to unlock new opportunities for the growth of the local digital market: support mechanisms for creators will expand, content exports will grow, and new monetization models and IT products will emerge. For IT Park Uzbekistan, this cooperation represents the strengthening of international partnerships and an acceleration of the country’s transformation into a competitive digital hub in the region.
