    Uzbekistan at the Center of Fintech: IT Park Unveils the Enterprise Uzbekistan Project at Central Asia Fintech Summit 2024

     

    The Central Asia Fintech Summit 2024 held in Almaty has emerged as a pivotal platform for discussing trends and innovations in the fintech sector. This premier event in the region brought together over 70 experts, industry leaders, and representatives of fintech companies to examine the key challenges and opportunities for Central Asia’s financial systems.

     

     

    During the panel discussion on the "Central Asia Fintech Ecosystem", participants explored the creation of an effective environment for innovators and the role of government initiatives in fintech development. One of the keynote speakers was Akbar Gulyamov, Project Director of the International Digital Technologies Center — Enterprise Uzbekistan. He introduced the Enterprise Uzbekistan project, which is focused on establishing a special regulated zone to support startups and attract international companies.

     

     

    In his address, Gulyamov underscored Uzbekistan’s strategic initiatives in digital technologies, emphasizing the nation’s active efforts to strengthen its position on the international stage. The discussion also featured industry leaders such as Askar Omarov, Head of Product Solutions for Eastern Europe at Mastercard, Bakas Uulu Bakhtiyar, CFO of the High Technology Park of Kyrgyzstan, Zhansaya Kalybekova, Director of the Regulatory Office at Astana Hub, and Ainur Zhanturina, Director of Rise Research.

     

    The speakers shared their insights into the fintech, focusing on innovations and government support for the digital economy. They discussed how to create favorable conditions for startups in Central Asia, emphasizing the importance of streamlining financial processes and attracting investors.

     

     

    The initiatives presented, including the establishment of regulated zones and the deployment of cutting-edge digital technologies, reflect Uzbekistan’s ambition to establish itself as a significant player on the global fintech stage. The summit showcased the country’s readiness for further advancement and its openness to collaboration with global partners, offering new avenues for growth and investment across the region.

    GBSF 2025 outcomes: Uzbekistan strengthens its status as an IT hub

    Tashkent hosted the Global Business Services Forum 2025 (GBSF 2025), one of the most prominent events of the year in the field of IT outsourcing and digital services. Organized by IT Park Uzbekistan with the support of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, the event convened approximately 450 participants representing 260 companies, including 237 international companies from 40 countries. Among the attendees were representatives of multinational corporations, startups, government agencies, and venture capital funds.
