Uzbekistan Showcases Its IT Potential in Osaka

On May 12, 2025, the Uzbekistan Outsourcing Session took place in Osaka, Japan, with the support of the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan and IT Park Uzbekistan. The event was organized with the primary objective of showcasing Uzbekistan’s investment climate and human capital in the IT sector, while establishing direct engagement with Japanese technology enterprises. The session brought together over 30 representatives from 20 Japanese companies.

Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov, underscored the strategic importance of international cooperation in the technology sector, noting that the partnership between Japan and Uzbekistan opens new avenues for exchange of advanced solutions and contributes to the sustainable economic growth of both nations.

Makhliyo Muksinova, Services Export Development Director at IT Park Uzbekistan, presented the advantages of IT outsourcing in Uzbekistan, highlighting the country’s growing pool of highly qualified IT professionals and programs designed to support technological entrepreneurship.

During the session, representatives of the Ministry and IT Park provided detailed insights into government support measures for the IT sector, developed infrastructure, tax incentives, and broad opportunities available to foreign investors. Particular attention was given to talent development initiatives.

More than 30 representatives from 20 Japanese companies attended the session. Following the session, over 15 companies expressed keen interest in further exploring Uzbekistan’s IT potential and avenues for partnership.

In the framework of the Uzbekistan Outsourcing Session, a meeting was held with Mr. Yasuhiro Takeda, founder of the animation studio Gainax Kyoto. With over 35 years of professional experience, Mr. Takeda has significantly contributed to the evolution of Japan’s animation industry and played a prominent role in training emerging talent. During the meeting, he announced his intention to attend Game Fest in Uzbekistan later this week, where he will engage in events focused on the development of the gaming and animation industries.

Mr. Takeda also teaches at a Japanese university where approximately 20 Uzbek students are currently enrolled. A proposal was made to encourage graduates who intend to return to Uzbekistan to participate in the activities of Japanese companies entering the Uzbek market. These alumni, equipped with Japanese academic backgrounds, language proficiency, and cultural competence, can play a vital role in bridging the two countries.

Both sides agreed to advance cooperation in the fields of talent development and knowledge exchange within the animation and digital creative industries between Uzbekistan and Japan.

The Uzbekistan Outsourcing Session in Osaka marked a significant step toward reinforcing international collaboration and positioning Uzbekistan as a reliable partner in IT outsourcing and advanced digital technologies. IT Park Uzbekistan will continue to pursue initiatives to attract strategic partners and investors from the Asia-Pacific region.
