IT Park and GameDevHQ Academy Signed a Memorandum to Develop the Industry in Uzbekistan

Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, Executive Director of IT Park, and Jonathan Weinberger, CEO of GameDevHQ, have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement encompasses the preparation of highly skilled professionals in game development, the facilitation of graduates in initiating their own projects, and the promotion of GameDev startup ventures. 

 

 

The signing ceremony took place during the inauguration of the first GameDev Academy in Tashkent, established in partnership with Tashkent Metropolitan University.   

 

 

Under the memorandum, IT Park and GameDevHQ have agreed to collaborate on initiatives designed to foster the growth of the GameDev industry in Uzbekistan, drive innovation, attract foreign investment, and produce a new generation of highly qualified professionals. The Academy’s curriculum will emphasize state-of-the-art technologies, including Unity and Unreal Engine, equipping students with competencies essential for both domestic and global markets.   

 

Furthermore, the parties have committed to supporting the employment of GameDevHQ graduates by providing pathways for professional development and integration into the industry. Additionally, IT Park and GameDevHQ will collaborate to attract international investors to back innovative GameDev projects, thereby promoting the growth of startups and enterprises within the country.   

 

In 2025, Tashkent Metropolitan University will introduce a dedicated Faculty of Computer Science, which will serve as a center for training professionals in high-demand areas such as Game Development, Cybersecurity, DevOps, and Project Engineering, among others. 

 

The establishment of GameDevHQ Academy is set to solidify Uzbekistan's position within the global technology sector, creating opportunities for young professionals to contribute meaningfully to the GameDev industry. This initiative opens new avenues for the domestic IT sector, enhances Uzbekistan's reputation on the global stage, generates employment opportunities, and strengthens its competitive edge.
