On September 29, the first Uzbekistan–US Transport and Logistics Forum was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Washington, D.C. The event was organized with the participation of the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, IT Park Uzbekistan, and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States.
The event was attended by Furkat Sidikov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the United States; Ruslan Yapparov, Chief Growth Officer, North America at IT Park Uzbekistan; Lazizbek Khudaev, Director for Member Relations; Abdukhalim Khalilov, Advisor on Internal Affairs at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States; Sherkhonkhuja Imomkhodjaev, CEO of Zone-OH LLC; Sukhrob Norbekov, Founding Partner of Norbek & Partners LLC; and Saidazim Burkhankhodjaev, CEO of ITF Group.
The forum brought together more than 65 representatives of the transport and logistics industry, businesses, government agencies, and law enforcement bodies. Participants discussed the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States in transport and logistics, as well as business security and operational risk management.
The forum highlighted opportunities available in Uzbekistan for international transport, logistics, and service companies, including existing support mechanisms, the country’s talent pool, and conditions for the development of BPO operations.
Companies from Uzbekistan are already providing services to the US transport and logistics sector in areas such as dispatching, accounting, fleet management, and recruitment.
Today, more than 550 members of IT Park Uzbekistan work with the US market.
Particular attention was given to current challenges facing the US transport and logistics industry. Participants discussed issues related to fraud, business protection, incident response, as well as cooperation between companies, government agencies, and law enforcement bodies.
The discussion focused on sharing practical experience and identifying mechanisms that can help reduce operational risks when working in the US market.
Participants were also introduced to the Zero Risk program, aimed at supporting international companies launching or expanding their operations in Uzbekistan.
The program provides support with office infrastructure and equipment, recruitment and training of specialists, as well as partial reimbursement of payroll expenses.
The first Uzbekistan–US Transport and Logistics Forum created a platform for direct dialogue between industry representatives from both countries and for discussing practical areas of cooperation, including the development of BPO and service operations in Uzbekistan to serve the US market.
