Uzbekistan and Serbia plan to establish a joint IT enterprise and venture fund

On October 29, the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, visited IT Park Uzbekistan, where he was introduced to the organization’s activities, key focus areas, and achievements in the field of digital transformation.

The Serbian delegation received a comprehensive presentation on the digital reforms being implemented by IT Park Uzbekistan, its strategic priorities, and future plans. Guests were shown projects developed by IT Park member companies, including solutions in artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and innovative products. The delegation also observed the work of IT specialists and became acquainted with their ideas and initiatives.

The innovative products of IT Park members — UniconSoft, Didox (Venkon), and Kpi.com — drew particular interest from the delegation due to their technological sophistication and scalability potential in international markets. These companies presented solutions in digitalization, business process automation, and data management, focused on export and integration in global markets.

Significant attention was also given to the developments of the UzSpace Agency, which demonstrated cutting-edge technologies for remote sensing and spatial data processing, underscoring the rapid growth of Uzbekistan’s space and geodata sectors.

Among the initiatives presented were projects by UZINFOCOM, including Palm ID, the Uzinfocom ecosystem, HRM.argos.uz, uGaz, and DMed. These solutions are aimed at enhancing public administration efficiency, digitalizing the healthcare sector, and optimizing citizen services. The Serbian delegation noted the technological advancement, practical relevance, and international scalability potential of these projects.

The members of the Serbian delegation highly commended the modern infrastructure and favorable working conditions established at IT Park Uzbekistan, noting that such centers play a pivotal role in engaging youth in international projects and fostering innovation. President Aleksandar Vučić highlighted the significance of these initiatives for advancing innovation and strengthening cooperation between the two nations.

As part of the visit, a meeting was held between representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan, UZINFOCOM, and the Serbian delegation to discuss prospects for collaboration in the digital technology sector. During the negotiations, the parties agreed to establish a joint IT enterprise in Serbia for the implementation of technological projects, including the launch of the Palm ID system, and to explore the creation of a joint venture fund to support startups from both countries.

The discussions also covered potential collaboration in IT outsourcing, Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) for international market expansion, as well as the development of joint educational and acceleration programs, and support for technology startups through partnerships with international accelerators and venture funds. Special attention was given to knowledge exchange, innovation infrastructure development, and the creation of conditions to enhance the global competitiveness of IT companies in both Uzbekistan and Serbia.

The Uzbek side expressed its readiness to invest in the establishment of server infrastructure and to engage engineers for maintaining the Palm ID system in Serbia. In turn, the Serbian side confirmed its commitment to facilitating the implementation and promotion of these technologies within its domestic market, with a view toward scaling them across the European Union.

Additionally, the parties discussed the launch of a joint venture program valued at $1 million, which will fund Uzbek startups entering the European market and Serbian projects seeking expansion into Central Asia.

The partnership between IT Park Uzbekistan and Serbian organizations will create new opportunities for the joint implementation of projects in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and innovation, while also strengthening the export potential of Uzbek IT companies and promoting national digital solutions across the European market.
