Next-generation AI-powered data center to be built in Karakalpakstan

A modern data center powered by renewable energy sources and equipped with advanced artificial intelligence technologies is set to be established in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

The project will be implemented under a framework investment agreement valued at $130.9 million, signed between the Supreme Council of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the companies Keycore Technology Corp.(KCT) Taiwan and Nvidia AI server.

The meeting was attended by representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan and its Karakalpakstan branch, who acted as project coordinators and served as a communication platform between the parties.

The project aligns with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which introduced a special regime for the Republic of Karakalpakstan aimed at stimulating investment in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure. In accordance with the resolution, companies investing more than $100 million in the construction of data centers are eligible for IT Park Uzbekistan’s incentives, customs duty exemptions on imported equipment, and a special electricity tariff of $0.05 per kilowatt-hour.

As noted by representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan, the conditions established by the President are already yielding tangible results: international technology companies are beginning to actively invest in Uzbekistan, viewing the country as a reliable destination for the implementation of energy-efficient and innovative AI-driven projects.

All of the companies involved are part of Keycore Technology Corp.(KCT) Taiwan, one of the leading international holdings specializing in the construction and operation of data centers for artificial intelligence applications. The holding actively collaborates with the U.S.-based corporation Nvidia AI server and develops projects that operate entirely on renewable energy sources. Its structure includes subsidiaries in Taiwan, India, and the Philippines.

During the negotiations, representatives of Keycore Technology Corp.(KCT) Taiwan presented the All-Green AI Compute Center, the first AI infrastructure project in Taiwan fully powered by renewable energy. Similar centers are currently under construction in Guam, and in the near future, the company plans to expand its activities to Central Asia. According to company representatives, Uzbekistan possesses a strategic geographic position and significant potential to become a regional hub for data processing and AI computing infrastructure.

The delegation, together with representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan, also visited the project site in the Takhiatash district, where the construction of the facility is planned. During the visit, the parties discussed opportunities for knowledge exchange in energy-efficient technologies, the conduct of joint research initiatives, and the deployment of Direct Liquid Cooling 2 systems designed to significantly reduce data center energy consumption.

Representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan confirmed their full readiness to provide support for the project — from legal and administrative facilitation to the recruitment of qualified local IT specialists.

The implementation of the joint project by Keycore Technology Corp.(KCT) Taiwan and Nvidia AI server will represent an important step toward strengthening Uzbekistan’s digital infrastructure, attracting foreign investment, and creating new employment opportunities. The project will further solidify the country’s position as a key innovation and technology hub in Central Asia.
