Prospects for Cooperation with Meta Discussed

A delegation from Meta, led by Mr. Simon Milner, Vice President for Public Policy in the Asia-Pacific region, visited IT Park Uzbekistan.

 

Within the framework of the visit, the delegation was provided with an in-depth presentation on the activities of IT Park, its established ecosystem, forward-looking projects, as well as the favorable conditions created for investors. The guests also became acquainted with the operations of the UzSoc Center, where detailed information was presented regarding measures being implemented in the fields of information security, social media content monitoring, and other critical areas.

 

 

Furthermore, the delegation visited UZINFOCOM, where they were introduced to the country’s digital infrastructure, data centers, and services delivered through advanced technologies.

 

 

The key part of the visit was a meeting with the Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Sherzod Shermatov. During the discussions, the parties explored prospects for bilateral cooperation, including content policy, youth capacity building, the development of artificial intelligence, the digital economy, and ensuring safety across social media platforms.

 

 

In conclusion, it was underscored that this visit represents a significant step towards fostering open dialogue and strengthening the strategic partnership between Meta and the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
