IT Park Uzbekistan Expands Innovation Ties with Georgia

On July 1, 2026, the Uzbekistan–Georgia Business Forum was held in Tbilisi to further strengthen trade, economic, investment, and industrial cooperation between the two countries. The forum brought together government officials, financial institutions, and business leaders from Uzbekistan and Georgia, providing a platform to explore new areas of bilateral partnership.

Digital services emerged as one of the forum's key priorities. Given the strong growth of IT exports in both countries, discussions focused on expanding cooperation in fintech, e-commerce, artificial intelligence, BPO services, and the digitalization of trade and logistics. On the sidelines of the forum, IT Park Uzbekistan held a series of bilateral meetings focused on strengthening startup ecosystems, attracting venture capital, supporting the international expansion of technology companies, and deepening innovation cooperation between Uzbekistan and Georgia.

New Opportunities for Uzbek Startups

One of the key meetings was held with Irakli Kashibadze, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Future Laboratory, Managing Partner of Future Laboratory Ventures, and the founding Chairman of Georgia's Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA).

The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the startup ecosystems of Uzbekistan and Georgia, as well as promoting the Land of Startups initiative among Georgian entrepreneurs and participants of accelerator programs.

Particular attention was given to exchanging expertise on preparing startups for international expansion, including investor readiness, go-to-market strategy, intellectual property (IP) protection, legal support, and access to international venture capital networks.

The parties also explored opportunities to leverage Future Laboratory's experience in helping startups enter the U.S. market, organize joint demo days and investor meetings, and launch other initiatives aimed at strengthening ties between the venture ecosystems of Uzbekistan and Georgia.

Another area of discussion focused on cooperation in developing startup support infrastructure, acceleration programs, and the broader innovation ecosystem.

Expanding International Partnerships

The IT Park Uzbekistan delegation also met with Nodo Ivanidze, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Global Tech Weekend.

The parties discussed expanding their partnership following the successful Global Tech Weekend held in Tashkent, including the possibility of hosting Global Tech Weekend 2027 in Uzbekistan.

In addition, discussions focused on integrating Uzbek startups into the Global Tech Weekend international network, expanding their connections with investors, mentors, and technology companies, and strengthening cooperation between the innovation ecosystems of Central Asia and the Caucasus.
