Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan and IT Park Explore Istanbul Financial Center’s Expertise to Strengthen Collaboration

On November 5, 2024, the Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, along with Services Export Development Director at IT Park Uzbekistan, Makhliyo Muksinova, held a meeting with the CEO of Istanbul Financial Center (IFC), Ahmet İhsan Erdem. The primary focus of the meeting was to discuss the integration of international digital technology and fintech standards for the establishment of the International Digital Technology Center in Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, both parties explored IFC’s experience in fostering international cooperation, talent development, and creating mechanisms for collaboration with government institutions. Participants underscored the importance of bolstering Uzbekistan’s global standing within the financial sector and its emergence as a regional IT hub, which facilitates the creation of new economic growth opportunities.

IFC representatives expressed keen interest in supporting the development of the International Digital Technology Center, known as Enterprise Uzbekistan, with plans for an on-site visit to gain a deeper understanding of the project. Following this visit, the potential signing of a memorandum of cooperation for the joint development of the project is considered. Under this partnership, a roadmap would be developed, facilitating knowledge exchange on IFC’s mechanisms for collaboration with government bodies and insights into its global financial market operations.

This engagement marked a pivotal step towards solidifying cooperation between Uzbekistan and its international partners in the realms of digital technology and fintech, thereby establishing a robust foundation for sustained economic growth and the nation’s innovative progress.
