IT Park Uzbekistan Hosted an International Conference on Audit and Artificial Intelligence

On 22–23 May, an international conference titled “Digitalization of Audit Processes and Big Data Analysis Using Artificial Intelligence” was held in Tashkent. The event was organized by the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Technologies and the Youth Affairs Agency. The first day of the conference took place at the Youth Creativity Palace, while the second day was hosted at IT Park Uzbekistan.

The conference focused on issues related to public audit, digital transformation, Big Data, and the application of artificial intelligence technologies in auditing systems. Representatives of audit institutions, international organizations, and technology experts from Uzbekistan, China, Turkey, Japan, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Egypt, Hungary, and other countries participated in the event.

The second day of the conference at IT Park Uzbekistan began with a GovTech exhibition. The exhibition showcased modern IT platforms, e-government services, and innovative technological solutions aimed at improving public administration and the delivery of services to citizens.

The conference was opened by Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov. In his speech, he spoke about the reforms being implemented in the country under the initiative of the President, the conditions created for IT companies, and the existing incentives and benefits. The Minister noted that many major international IT companies operate as residents of IT Park Uzbekistan and, by taking advantage of the opportunities provided, have significantly increased the export volume of IT services.

Deputy Auditor General of the National Audit Office of China, Ma Wenhui, highly praised the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan. He emphasized that today Big Data is not only transforming approaches to public administration but also shaping the future of public auditing.

As part of the event, two parallel sessions were organized. The first session focused on “Information Technology Audit: Evaluation of Information Systems in the Digital Environment, Risk Management, and Control Mechanisms.” Discussions covered challenges of IT auditing in government organizations, auditing of digital projects and banking systems, AI-based audit mechanisms, and the digital transformation of public administration. Representatives from KPMG, the Polytechnic University of Turin, Webster University, and the Management Development Institute of Singapore took part in the discussions.

The second session addressed challenges and innovative solutions in the field of intelligent Big Data analysis for public auditing. Participants exchanged views on the effectiveness of machine learning algorithms, remote audit systems, Geo-AI, detection of fraud risks involving public assets, and Uzbekistan’s Artificial Intelligence Development Strategy through 2030.

In addition, representatives of ASOSAI and INTOSAI member countries shared their national experiences. Delegations from China, Armenia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Azerbaijan, Latvia, and Turkey presented practical case studies on the use of Big Data, automation, and digital transformation in public auditing. In particular, representatives from Hungary demonstrated their experience in processing more than 164,000 pages of scanned documents overnight.

The conference also featured cultural and networking events. Guests visited the Chamber of Accounts’ Remote Monitoring Center, explored historical and modern landmarks of Tashkent, and participated in sports competitions held under the slogan “Unity of Audit and Sports.”

The international conference became one of the key platforms for discussing the digitalization of public auditing in Uzbekistan, the implementation of artificial intelligence and Big Data technologies, and the expansion of international cooperation in this field.
