FUJIFILM System Services plans to open an office in Uzbekistan

The Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, and the CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan, Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, held a meeting with Naoki Hama, President and CEO of Fujifilm Business Innovation, and Isao Takamura, President of FUJIFILM System Services, along with senior executives from the FUJIFILM Group and its affiliated structures. The discussions focused on the prospects of establishing a corporate office in Uzbekistan, the recruitment of local specialists, and the advancement of cooperation in information technology and education.

FUJIFILM System Services Corp. is a primary IT subsidiary of FUJIFILM Holdings, established in 1988 and headquartered in Tokyo. The company specializes in IT infrastructure, systems integration, data management, AI-driven solutions, and BPO services, primarily serving the public, education, and healthcare sector. With a workforce of approximately 1,700 employees and annual revenues exceeding $840 million, the company already operates an international offshore model, including an IT facility in Vietnam with over 200 specialists.

During the negotiations, the participants discussed in detail the potential establishment of a FUJIFILM System Services outsourcing office in Uzbekistan. Particular emphasis was placed on the prevailing business climate, access to a qualified talent pool, and the state support mechanisms provided by the IT Park Uzbekistan ecosystem. Representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan outlined the tax incentives, infrastructure, and specialized support frameworks available to international IT enterprises.

A dedicated segment of the discussion focused on workforce development. The company expressed a strong interest in recruiting professionals proficient in the Japanese language and in the development of collaborative educational initiatives.

Furthermore, the parties explored the potential launch of supplementary training and practice-oriented programs designed to enhance digital skills, specifically in IT infrastructure, data management systems, and enterprise digital solutions. Following the session, an agreement was reached to continue the joint development of the company’s operational model in Uzbekistan and to define the subsequent measures for initiating business activities.

Partnership with FUJIFILM System Services offers IT Park Uzbekistan the opportunity to attract a major international IT corporation, create new employment opportunities, and enhance human capital, particularly among Japanese-speaking specialists. This collaboration facilitates the strengthening of international ties, the expansion of IT service exports, and the development of Uzbekistan as a reliable hub for technological and outsourcing centers.
