Delegation from Kuwait Visits IT Park: Investments and IT Talent Development

Tashkent hosted a meeting between the leadership of IT Park Uzbekistan and a delegation from Action Group Holdings (Kuwait), led by Sheikh Abdullah Mohammad Al Sabah. The discussions centered on prospects for bilateral cooperation in IT outsourcing, investment opportunities, venture capital development, and the advancement of Uzbekistan’s IT talent pool.

    Why is this important?

Action Group Holdings (AGH) is one of Kuwait’s most prominent conglomerates, with a diverse portfolio spanning investments, real estate, hospitality, energy, information technology, logistics and construction, education, consultancy, and trading. The company operates in over 10 countries across the Middle East, Europe, and Australia, employing more than 2,000 professionals representing over 36 nationalities. In addition to its headquarters in Kuwait, AGH maintains regional offices in Oman and Melbourne, Australia.

    Key Discussion Points

Both parties discussed the favorable conditions created in Uzbekistan for scaling ITeS-businesses, accessing new markets, and developing the startup ecosystem. Special attention was given to Uzbekistan’s strategic location, competitive cost advantages, government-backed incentives for tech enterprises, and rapidly growing digital infrastructure.

They emphasized the importance of fostering engagement with Uzbek venture capital funds and startups to unlock new investment opportunities and drive technological exchange. The discussion also underscored the high quality and potential of local IT talent in Uzbekistan, highlighting the country’s growing pool of skilled professionals who are well-positioned to contribute to global tech projects.

    Next Steps

The parties agreed to hold further meetings to explore investment opportunities and define collaboration programs in greater detail.

Potential collaboration with partners from Kuwait paves the way for new opportunities for Uzbek IT professionals, fosters the growth of Uzbekistan’s venture ecosystem, and strengthens the country’s position as a regional IT hub. IT Park remains committed to expanding international partnerships, attracting global technology leaders, and advancing the nation’s technological capabilities.
