On March 5, the Uzbekistan–Latvia Business Forum dedicated to strengthening trade, economic, and investment cooperation between the two countries was held in Tashkent. The event brought together representatives of government institutions, businesses, and the technology sector from both Uzbekistan and Latvia.
Participants of the forum included representatives of government agencies, business communities of Uzbekistan and Latvia, as well as representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan. More than 20 Latvian companies also took part in the event, including Latvijas dzelzceļš, Ventspils Free Port, Elektroniskie sakari, Intellog, and MGK Building, representing sectors such as railway infrastructure, port logistics, telecommunications, transport services, and construction technologies.
During the forum, representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan presented opportunities for cooperation within the country’s technology ecosystem and outlined the conditions created for the development of IT businesses in Uzbekistan.
Dildora Nasibullaeva, Head of the International Cooperation Department at IT Park Uzbekistan, delivered a presentation highlighting Uzbekistan’s potential for developing the technology sector and strengthening collaboration with international companies. She noted that the country is creating favorable conditions for scaling IT businesses and expanding into new markets.
“Today Uzbekistan positions itself as a strategic digital platform connecting Europe and Central Asia. Our goal is not only domestic growth but also full integration into global value chains through technology, talent, and modern infrastructure,”
she emphasized.
IT Park Uzbekistan also proposed several initiatives aimed at enhancing technological cooperation between Uzbekistan and Latvia. In particular, proposals were presented for implementing joint projects to support Latvian companies entering international markets, developing cooperation in education and training specialists in artificial intelligence, as well as expanding collaboration in venture investments and support for innovative startups.
During the forum, B2B and B2G meetings were held, where representatives of companies and government institutions discussed prospects for cooperation and opportunities for implementing joint projects.
Cooperation with the Latvian side is expected to open new opportunities for IT Park Uzbekistan to expand export geography, attract direct investments, and strengthen Uzbekistan’s position as a strategic digital platform connecting Europe and Central Asia.
