The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Hassan bin Hamza Hashim, paid an official visit to the Ministry of Digital Technologies.
During the visit, the Ambassador was presented with a detailed overview of IT Park's operations, its ecosystem, and strategic initiatives. The delegation was also introduced to the activities of the UZINFOCOM center.
The central part of the visit featured a meeting between the Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, and Ambassador Hassan bin Hamza Hashim. The parties held discussions on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of digital technologies.
In particular, the discussion focused on advancing the development of local startups in Uzbekistan and attracting investment from Qatar.
Opportunities for promoting national IT products developed in Uzbekistan to the markets of Arab countries via Qatar were also explored.
Furthermore, the Qatari side was invited to take part in the upcoming ICT Week Uzbekistan 2025, with proposals made to ensure the participation of Qatari IT companies and to organize a national pavilion within the framework of the forum.
Additional discussions addressed the establishment of cooperation between Qatari venture capital funds and Uzbek startups, the development of human capital in the digital sector, and the expansion of IT service exports.
