    IT Park Uzbekistan Strengthens Collaboration with Malaysian Companies at Business Forum

    Within the framework of the Uzbekistan-Malaysia Business Forum held in Kuala Lumpur, IT Park Uzbekistan conducted a series of productive meetings with leading technology companies. These strategic engagements aim to advance the development of IT-enabled services (ITeS), educational initiatives, and IT infrastructure in Uzbekistan. The discussions have unveiled new opportunities for international cooperation, underscoring the increasing interest of the global ITES industry in Uzbekistan.   

     

     

    Upstream BPO: Expanding a Successful Initiative in Uzbekistan 

     

    Upstream BPO, which commenced operations in Syrdarya in 2024 and has already generated over 80 employment opportunities, continues to strengthen its footprint in the region. The company has formalized a memorandum of cooperation with the Syrdarya Regional Administration, outlining plans for business expansion and the creation of an additional 100 jobs. This initiative stands as a testament to the successful collaboration between the ITES sectors of Uzbekistan and Malaysia.   

     

    Upstream BPO is recognized as one of the largest BPO service providers in Asia, employing more than 5,000 professionals and maintaining offices in Malaysia and Singapore.   

     

    Basis Bay: Digital Infrastructure and Educational Initiatives 

     

    Discussions with Basis Bay focused on the prospective construction of a data center in Uzbekistan, which will serve as a critical component of the country's digital infrastructure. This initiative will unlock new opportunities for the development of areas such as cloud computing, machine learning (ML), and big data management. Additionally, plans are underway to establish educational training centers aimed at cultivating IT specialists, thereby contributing to the growth of the digital economy and enhancing the competitiveness of local talent.    

     

    Basis Bay is a premier provider of sustainable cloud computing and IT infrastructure services, operating in Malaysia and across more than 20 countries in the Asia-Pacific region and Europe. The company supports over 300 clients, including prominent international financial institutions and multinational organizations. 

     

    SCICOM: Strengthening International Educational Collaboration 

     

    Engagements with SCICOM centered on the development of a program to train IT specialists in Uzbekistan. A visit by the company’s representatives is expected in the near future, which will facilitate the detailed planning of subsequent steps.

    GBSF 2025 outcomes: Uzbekistan strengthens its status as an IT hub

    Tashkent hosted the Global Business Services Forum 2025 (GBSF 2025), one of the most prominent events of the year in the field of IT outsourcing and digital services. Organized by IT Park Uzbekistan with the support of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, the event convened approximately 450 participants representing 260 companies, including 237 international companies from 40 countries.
