IT Park Uzbekistan Expands Cooperation with Technology and Educational Organizations in Hong Kong

IT Park Uzbekistan’s participation in the Belt and Road Summit 2026 provided a platform for developing international partnerships, promoting Uzbekistan’s IT ecosystem, and creating new opportunities for technology companies and startups to enter the Hong Kong and Asian markets.

As part of the Belt and Road Summit 2026, representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan held a series of meetings with leading technology, innovation and educational organizations, as well as representatives of the international business community. Among the partners engaged in discussions were the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), Hong Kong Cyberport, Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (HSITP), The University of Hong Kong (HKU), and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), along with other companies and organizations.

At the forum, IT Park Uzbekistan presented the opportunities of Uzbekistan’s IT ecosystem, established new business contacts, and discussed prospects for further cooperation with international partners.

During the Summit, it was noted that Uzbekistan’s IT services exports have exceeded USD 1 billion, with a target to increase this figure to USD 5 billion by 2030.

The proposal to establish an “Uzbekistan–Hong Kong” digital cooperation platform was also discussed.

The discussions also covered Uzbekistan’s participation as one of the founding members of the World Organization for Cooperation in Artificial Intelligence, established in Shanghai, as well as the country’s contribution to the development of the Digital Silk Road and the digital development of Central Asia.

HKTDC: New Opportunities to Enter Asian Markets

One of the key meetings focused on further cooperation with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). The parties discussed opportunities for IT Park Uzbekistan and Uzbek technology companies to participate in HKTDC’s international events, as well as further development of business ties between companies from the two countries.

Particular attention was given to InnoEX, an international platform bringing together technology companies, innovative teams, investors, and business representatives. During the meeting, the parties discussed the potential participation of IT Park Uzbekistan and Uzbek companies in the event.

Participation in such international platforms will enable Uzbek technology companies to showcase their solutions, find potential partners, and expand their presence in Asian markets.

    HKSTP: Expanding Opportunities for Startups

With the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), IT Park Uzbekistan continued its cooperation under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed during IT Park Uzbekistan’s visit to Hong Kong in July 2026.

The parties discussed opportunities for HKSTP startups to participate in ICT WEEK Uzbekistan 2026, as well as prospects for Hong Kong technology companies to enter the Uzbek market.

Cyberport: Supporting Two-Way Market Entry for Technology Companies

During the meeting with Hong Kong Cyberport, the parties discussed supporting technology companies and startups in entering the markets of Uzbekistan and Hong Kong.

In particular, they considered opportunities to expand the presence of Hong Kong companies in the Uzbek market and establish mutual soft-landing mechanisms for companies from both countries.

In addition, Uzbek startups and representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan were invited to participate in the CVCP Forum, organized by Cyberport.

    HSITP: Developing Cross-Border Cooperation

The meeting with the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (HSITP) continued the cooperation established under the MoU signed in July 2026.

The parties discussed the development of startups and technology companies, technology commercialization, investment cooperation, and cross-border engagement. They also considered opportunities for HSITP and its companies to participate in ICT WEEK Uzbekistan 2026 and further develop mutual soft-landing mechanisms.

    HKU: Startups and Educational Cooperation

At the meeting with The University of Hong Kong (HKU), the parties discussed opportunities for cooperation in startups, education, and knowledge exchange.

Particular attention was given to joint webinars, the participation of Uzbek startups in international programs, and the development of educational initiatives. The parties also considered opportunities for cooperation between HKU, IT Park Uzbekistan, Uzbek universities, and startups.

HKUST: Startup Support and Knowledge Exchange

During the meeting with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), the parties discussed startup support and further development of cooperation.

Representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan highlighted Uzbekistan’s potential as a platform for startup development and noted that startups have opportunities to receive support from 22 venture capital funds. As a next step, the parties agreed to exchange information about relevant startup programs.

In addition, representatives of HKUST invited IT Park Uzbekistan to participate in Unicorn Day, which will take place in Hong Kong.

From Forum Participation to New Opportunities

Participation in the Belt and Road Summit 2026 enabled IT Park Uzbekistan to present the potential of Uzbekistan’s IT ecosystem to the international technology and business community, while also expanding its network of partnerships in Hong Kong.

The meetings opened up additional opportunities for the international scaling of Uzbek startups and technology companies, participation in international events and programs, finding partners, and entering new markets.

Continued cooperation with leading organizations in Hong Kong will strengthen IT Park Uzbekistan’s international partnerships and create new channels for integrating Uzbekistan’s IT ecosystem into Asia’s technology and business landscape.
