IT Park Uzbekistan and GITA discuss expanding cooperation in startups and innovation

The Innovation and Technology Agency of Georgia (GITA) is a government agency operating under the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia. Established in 2014, GITA plays a key role in developing the country's innovation ecosystem by implementing startup grant programs, acceleration and incubation initiatives, expanding a nationwide network of technology parks and innovation centers, attracting investment, fostering digital skills, and supporting the international growth of Georgian technology companies.

The meeting built upon the cooperation initiated during GITA's visit to the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan in April 2026. Following that visit, a joint working group was established, bringing together representatives of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, IT Park Uzbekistan, the Agency for Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and GITA.

During the discussions, the Uzbek side invited GITA representatives to participate in ICT Week Uzbekistan. The parties explored opportunities for Georgian experts to contribute to sessions focused on advanced technologies, innovation, and international cooperation.

As part of the meeting, IT Park Uzbekistan and GITA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a new stage of cooperation between the innovation ecosystems of Uzbekistan and Georgia.

The Memorandum establishes a framework for cooperation in startup ecosystem development, support for the international expansion of technology companies, organization of joint events, webinars, and business missions, as well as strengthening collaboration through the Uzbekistan–Georgia Joint Working Group.

Within the framework of the partnership, the parties agreed to jointly promote the Land of Startups initiative, positioning Uzbekistan as a strategic gateway for Georgian startups entering the Central Asian market. They also agreed to implement joint events, business missions, and international promotion programs aimed at supporting the global expansion of technology companies from both countries.
