    The collaboration between the IT sectors of Japan and Uzbekistan continues to strengthen

     

    As part of their visit to Japan, a delegation from IT Park Uzbekistan, led by CEO Farhod Ibragimov, conducted a series of meetings with representatives from Japanese companies, including Marubeni, Maya Mirai, and Symphodia Phil. These negotiations have proven to be a significant step in fostering cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan in the field of information technology.

     

    Marubeni

     

    Established in 1858, Marubeni Corporation presently stands as one of Japanʼs foremost companies, with operations spanning multiple sectors including information and communication technologies, real estate, agribusiness, chemicals, energy, metallurgy, and mining. The corporation maintains 131 offices in 55 countries worldwide, with a turnover of $68 billion USD in 2023 and a total workforce of 4,340 employees.

     

    Collaborating with Marubeni Corporation represents a significant stride towards diversifying business activities within Uzbekistan, where the company is currently engaged in mineral extraction. Marubeni Corporation has expressed interest in exploring the potential of Uzbekistanʼs IT sphere and formulating precise strategies for expanding its operations within the country.

     

    During the meeting, the parties deliberated upon prospective areas of collaboration within various IT domains, as well as opportunities to integrate Marubeni Corporationʼs expertise into the Uzbek information technology market. Mr. Shinsuke Suyama emphasized his intention to visit Uzbekistan in June for a comprehensive examination of its IT landscape and human capital.

     

    Maya Mirai

     

    MAYA MIRAI Inc., an entity dedicated to the IT infrastructure development the recruitment of talented specialists, including web developers and international professionals, boasting a staff of over 50 employees and an revenue surpassing 1 million dollars, has expressed interest in forging partnership ties and exploring collaborative prospects with IT Park Uzbekistan. The proposition to establish a back-office for project outsourcing and the possibility of becoming a resident under the HQ program have elicited considerable interest from MAYA MIRAI.

     

    During deliberations with representatives of MAYA MIRAI, pivotal subjects such as talent acquisition through the IT Bilim organization and the facilitation of both permanent remote work from Uzbekistan for Japanese companies and outbound internships were discussed. Moreover, assistance will be extended in inaugurating an outsourcing office and creating additional job opportunities. An agreement was reached to recruit the first employee from Uzbekistan into the Mara Mirai group of companies.

     

    Symphodia Phil

     

    Within the framework of the visit, a meeting was convened with Tomoya Shikanai, the founder of Symphodia Phil. Headquartered on the Japanese island of Okinawa, Symphodia Phil specializes in artificial intelligence and IT services tailored for agricultural enterprises, alongside facilitating the recruitment of IT specialists for diverse industries. The company boasts an annual turnover of 4 million US dollars.

     

    Mr. Tomoya revealed that he has already established an enterprise in Uzbekistan through the One Stop Shop service during the Offshore Outsourcing Tour conference in March. Symphodia Phil is poised to attain residency status at IT Park by the latter half of May.

     

    Symphodia Phil envisages offering IT and outsourcing services to client enterprises in Japan. By the year-end, it aims to create 30 job positions and augment the export volume of IT services to 1 million dollars.
