IT Park to establish new branches in Fergana

A delegation from IT Park Uzbekistan conducted a working visit to the Fergana region, where active efforts are underway to advance digital infrastructure and establish modern conditions for education and entrepreneurship in the field of information technology.

The delegation comprised Makhliyo Muksinova, Services Export Development Director; Jamila Khalibaeva, Global Marketing Director; and Azam Abdullaev,  Director for Regional Development.

Particular attention was given to the IT Park facility currently under construction in the eco-town situated at the intersection of Sayilgokh and Al-Fergani streets. This development is set to become IT Park’s largest regional complex. The 13-story building will span a total area of 22,610 square meters.

The facility will feature 50 classrooms with a combined capacity of 950 students, and will be able to accommodate an additional 500 individuals. It will also include a dormitory with 188 beds, dedicated spaces for teaching and administrative personnel, a library occupying the second and third floors, four meeting rooms, and a congress hall with a capacity of 450 attendees. The center is poised to play a pivotal role in the region’s educational and innovation ecosystem.

As part of the visit, the delegation also toured the premises of the former telephone exchange No. 225 in Fergana city, which is designated as the site for a new IT Park branch. The facility will be repurposed into office and coworking spaces designed to meet the needs of IT companies, specialists, and startups. The project envisions the creation of a comfortable, flexible environment aligned with current technological business standards.

In addition, the delegation visited the IT town located in the Toshloq district, where schoolchildren and students receive instruction in programming, 3D printing, robotics, and foreign languages. These facilities not only contribute to the development of future IT professionals but also enhance access to quality education in remote areas, forming the groundwork for the region’s digital transformation.

At present, the Fergana branch of IT Park is home to 107 member companies, 24 of which export IT services to international markets including the United States, China, Russia, Poland, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Israel, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Thailand, and India. To date, more than 1,300 jobs have been created, with several companies utilizing the Zero Risk program — a state-supported initiative aimed at mitigating the startup risks faced by IT entrepreneurs establishing operations in the regions.

As Uzbekistan’s digital transformation continues to spread across regions, the Fergana region is steadily emerging as one of its central hubs. The development of infrastructure, the opening of new branches, and the establishment of educational centers are laying a robust foundation for the growth of local IT initiatives, unlocking the region’s potential and broadening access to modern technological opportunities for its residents.
