IT Park Members Enhance Collaboration with South Korea Under the Local to Global.Korea Program

During a recent business visit to Seoul, IT Park Uzbekistan members engaged in a series of meetings with prominent Korean IT companies as part of the Local2Global.Korea program and gained insight into the nation’s IT sector.

The visit included meetings with companies such as KOIIA, Proxy Planet, Team Ppamer, Miso, BizData, and Injeinc, focusing on the potential for bilateral cooperation.

The Local2Global program is an initiative by IT Park Uzbekistan aimed at expanding the export capabilities of local IT-enabled service (ITeS) companies. As part of the Local to Global program, various market segments for target countries have been identified, including Local2Global.Korea, which facilitates the establishment of partnerships between IT Park members and Korean IT companies. Currently, six members are participating in Local2Global.Korea: A-One Project, Global MG, DK Leading, Vention, Evegoplayon, and Game Tunes.

The agenda also featured a tour of the NAVER headquarters and a meeting with Mr. Jo Hankyu, Senior Business Development Director at Naver.

Naver stands as the largest internet portal and the most widely used search engine in South Korea, with average monthly visits exceeding 1.5 billion in 2024.

Furthermore, IT Park member, A-One Project conducted meetings with Kookmin Bank and KOIIA. During the engagement with Kookmin Bank, representatives from A-One Project showcased their developments in the fields of healthcare, education, and construction, while exploring potential avenues for collaboration.

In discussions with KOIIA, A-One Project evaluated opportunities to support the digitalization of industries in Korea. Additionally, an online meeting is scheduled with Professor Kyungil Min from Cha University to deliberate on a collaborative project.

Global MG has initiated negotiations with Otashi regarding the joint development of an automation system tailored for product distributors.

Moreover, members DK Leading, Evegoplayon, and Game Tunes are preparing for their forthcoming trip to Seoul from November 15-17, during which they will participate in the Global Game Exhibition G-Star 2024. This presents a valuable opportunity for these companies to engage with Korean game developers, exchange ideas, and explore collaborative projects that have the potential to transform the gaming market.

The Local to Global.Korea program offers IT Park members unparalleled opportunities to forge connections with key players in the Korean IT market. These newly established relationships will not only enable Uzbek companies to strengthen their presence on the international stage but also expand their operations and create new employment opportunities for talented specialists within Uzbekistan.

Living and working in Uzbekistan as a foreign founder: What to expect

When I first landed in Uzbekistan back in 2018, I didn’t expect to stay this long. Yet here I am, eight years later, still convinced it’s one of the few places where the math of life makes sense. You get strong value for money, a real sense of community, and a lifestyle that allows you to focus on building. It’s not perfect — but if you want lower burn without shrinking your life, Uzbekistan deserves your attention.
