Al Bayrak Explores Opportunities for Expanding IT Business in Uzbekistan

 

As part of the business meeting between the Uzbek delegation, led by the Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov, and representatives of Al Bayrak Group, potential cooperation in developing IT solutions was discussed. Also present at the meeting was IT Park’s Services Export Development Director, Makhliyo Muksinova. 

 

 

Founded in Turkey in 1952, Al Bayrak Group today comprises more than 80 companies and broadcast brands, operating across over 20 sectors including IT, construction, real estate investment partnerships, industry, logistics, and media. Al Bayrak initiated its investments in Uzbekistan in 2019, focusing on key sectors such as construction and consumer goods production, including sugar manufacturing. 

 

During the meeting, Al Bayrak representatives discussed their current projects in Uzbekistan and expressed interest in expanding their operations. Particular emphasis was placed on the advancement of IT-enabled services (ITes), with Al Bayrak representatives outlining plans to establish a technical team to support the development and implementation of IT solutions. 

 

 

Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov proposed that Al Bayrak consider the regions of Uzbekistan as promising locations for the provision of IT services, presenting the Zero-Risk program designed to streamline the recruitment of qualified specialists in development and business process support, as well as facilitate access to office spaces.  

 

Furthermore, Al Bayrak’s partners, Rosat and AIBil IT, showcased their traffic management systems and SAP and CRM systems, aimed at enhancing business operations and improving management efficiency for companies operating in Uzbekistan.   

 

The Turkish delegation emphasized that Uzbekistan’s favorable conditions for the ITes sector, coupled with streamlined bureaucratic procedures facilitated by IT Park, position the country as an attractive destination for foreign companies looking to enter the local market. Al Bayrak is already familiar with Uzbekistan, having previously launched a project in Namangan, is now considering Uzbekistan as a promising venue for IT business development.  

 

The meeting concluded with an agreement to strengthen cooperation and introduce new technological solutions focused on traffic management and production process optimization. Both parties emphasized the historical and cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Turkey, noting Uzbekistan’s multilingual population, which can positively influence partnerships between the technological sectors of both nations. Notably, Uzbekistan’s youth are actively learning foreign languages, including Turkish.  

 

Collaboration with Al Bayrak opens new opportunities for Uzbekistan, particularly in the areas of construction, manufacturing, and IT. The implementation of the proposed initiatives and programs are expected to bolster local economic growth, drive job creation, and attract foreign investment, while also reinforcing the cultural and economic relations between Uzbekistan and Turkey.
