HIB Strengthening Ties with Uzbekistan’s IT Sector

 

Tashkent, Uzbekistan – September 20, 2024. The Service Exporters Association (HIB), a prominent organization headquartered in Istanbul, has taken another significant step in its collaboration with Uzbekistan by actively participating in ICT Week 2024, which recently concluded in Tashkent. Following several successful engagements with IT Park Uzbekistan, HIB continues to explore opportunities to strengthen its cooperation with the country’s rapidly developing IT and service sectors.

 

During the event, HIB Chairman İlhan Bagoren delivered a keynote address, where he highlighted the importance of cross-border collaboration in the service export sector. His speech focused on the immense potential Uzbekistan offers in terms of skilled labor, a favorable business environment, and government support, positioning the country as a strategic partner for HIB and its members.

 

 

Ongoing Strategic Engagements

HIB’s involvement in ICT Week 2024 marks the latest in a series of engagements with Uzbekistan’s IT sector. Earlier this year, on May 15, HIB’s Senior Vice President, Kerem Irten, met with representatives from IT Park Uzbekistan during Mobilefest in Istanbul to discuss potential collaboration opportunities. Subsequently, on August 12, HIB Chairman İlhan Bagoren held a virtual meeting with IT Park officials to solidify plans for cooperation. These discussions culminated in Bagoren’s participation as a keynote speaker at the University of Central Asia (UoC) event in Istanbul on September 5.

 

 

At ICT Week 2024, HIB continued its fruitful dialogue with IT Park Uzbekistan, represented by Makhliyo Muksinova, Services Export Development Director at IT Park Uzbekistan. Muksinova emphasized the opportunities for foreign companies to leverage Uzbekistan’s growing IT sector, highlighting the government’s active support for service export development.

 

Strengthened Collaboration Through ICT Week

By participating in ICT Week 2024, HIB has reinforced its intention to contribute to Uzbekistan’s service export development. The event provided a platform for HIB to connect with key Uzbek IT companies and government representatives, further solidifying a partnership that promises to drive mutual growth. HIB's network of 1,700 exporters, is now set to explore new avenues in the Uzbek market. This presents an exciting opportunity for both sides to strengthen their collaboration and achieve new heights in the service export industry.
