Delegation from Uzbekistan conducted a meeting with Korean company E8ight

 

On June 24, a delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov and including IT Park CEO Farhod Ibragimov, convened with the leadership of the Korean company E8ight.

 

E8ight, established in 2012 and headquartered in Seoul, is a prominent Korean IT company with a reported revenue exceeding $16 million in 2023. The company's primary focus is the development of a digital twin platform, which enables the digitization of physical objects for subsequent interaction. E8ight operates under the corporate mission of "digitizing, connecting, and modeling the world."

 

During the meeting, the participants discussed the potential for collaboration and the establishment of an outsourcing office in Uzbekistan, thereby expanding E8ight's presence in Central Asia. Representatives of the Uzbek delegation outlined the advantages of operating in Uzbekistan, emphasizing the country's economic stability. E8ight views the establishment of a new office in Uzbekistan as the initial step towards a long-term and productive partnership, citing the high qualifications of Uzbek professionals and the country’s investment appeal.

 

Minister Shermatov highlighted the increasing demand for software solutions that enhance the energy efficiency of buildings and structures, such as Digital Twin technology, which manages energy consumption and heating systems in offices. This demand is evident not only in Uzbekistan but also in neighboring countries. This fact heightened E8ight's interest, with company head Kim Jin Hyun noting the efficiency and economic benefits of opening offices in Uzbekistan to provide services to other countries, given the optimal time zone difference.

 

The Uzbek delegation also underscored the significant talent pool available in various regions of Uzbekistan. They suggested that opening offices in regions such as Ferghana and Kashkadarya would enable E8ight to swiftly address issues related to affordable and comfortable office spaces and staffing needs for many years, supported by the Zero Risk program.

 

Kim Jin Hyun expressed his intention to personally attend the upcoming ICT Week event in September in Tashkent to gain firsthand insights into the country's IT landscape and explore Uzbekistan further.

 

This meeting underscores the interest of Korean IT companies in Uzbekistan, particularly in the local young professionals who will form the core staff of new company offices, simultaneously enhancing their specialized skills. Future cooperation with Korean IT companies is expected to significantly elevate Uzbekistan's profile as an international outsourcing hub for large IT firms.
